Ingredients
1 ripe banana 1 dessertspoonful orange juice a little lemon juice drop of vanilla essence sprinkling of brown sugar (e.g.demarara, muscovado) small knob butter

Equipment
1 small shallow ovenproof bowl knife microwave or conventional oven or barbeque

Instructions
1. Slice banana along its length, and place in the ovenproof bowl.
2. Add the other ingredients.
3. Part cover with a plate, and cook in the microwave for 1 minute. Allow to cool slightly. Serve as it is, or with ice cream.

Notes
This is a great recipe to do for a barbeque. Use the same ingredients, but instead of putting it in a bowl, put it in tin foil, and bringing up the edges, seal it into a purse shape. It will cook in about 15 minutes on the embers of the barbeque while you're finishing your main course. Serve it in the foil.
Alternatively, if you're using a conventional oven for your main course, put the foil parcels on a tray in the oven (190/200) for about 15 minutes.
For special suppers add a teaspoonful of rum and add a segment of orange to the parcel before cooking.
